Introduction: Project Total Design: Museography-Museologies
Project Total Design is about setting up a museum in Kerala - right through the entire process of naming, researching on content, generation of ideas, documentation, interpretation of displays, publication and publicity.
Each of us are to choose an object (associated with Kerala and traditional arts) that can potentially be put in the museum. We have to research extensively on it and explore ways that it might be able to be displayed. The space is an 18th century warehouse to be converted into the museum aimed at local, national and international audiences.
'Total Design' means that we as designers have the power to author the content as well as packaging - It will include communication over a variety of media.
